Job Summary
Senior-level global health security advisor embedded with Jordan's Ministry of Health to support life-saving humanitarian assistance and multi-sectoral GHS activities. responsibilities include conducting organizational assessments, enabling surveillance for priority diseases, strengthening data systems for monitoring/reporting, infection prevention and control (including WASH in healthcare facilities), case management and emergency management/EOC and point-of-entry screening, risk communication and community engagement, and facilitating coordination among ministries and donors to improve performance and achieve GHS targets. The role requires providing technical support, field engagement, monitoring grant implementation (Pandemic Fund, Global Fund, etc.), and preparing regular reports to U.S. and Jordanian partners, with a focus on reducing disease incidence and mortality and strengthening outbreak response capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, International Development, or related field.
- Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in global health security, infectious disease surveillance, emergency preparedness and response, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in senior project management roles, including oversight of complex, multi-stakeholder health programs with budgets exceeding $2 million.
- Proven experience in multi-sectoral coordination, particularly across human health, animal health, and environmental sectors (One Health approach).
- Experience working with national public health institutes or ministries of health in low- and middle-income countries.
- Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify bottlenecks and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, international partners, and technical experts.
