Job Summary
Execute and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timelines and quality requirements are met. Monitor closing progress, identify risks, and escalate issues proactively. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and complex accounting tasks using Excel and ERP systems. Act as the key point of contact for business users, stakeholders, and team leaders on accounting matters. Coordinate team activities, provide guidance to less experienced colleagues, and contribute to knowledge sharing. Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation within accounting processes, including SOP documentation and system migrations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives and process transitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field
- Solid accounting background with approximately 5 years of relevant experience in GL accounting
- Proven, hands-on experience in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end closing workflow
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and related accounting processes
- Confidence in Excel
- Experience with SAP and/or Oracle
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Desired Qualifications
- Being a Certified Public Accountant (Mérlegképes könyvelő)
- Experience with reporting, automation or data visualization tools
- Hungarian
