Job Summary
Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned expense and corporate accounting areas, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial results. Serve as primary owner of complex balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving reconciling items and maintaining robust supporting documentation. Review, prepare, and approve journal entries related to expense accruals, prepaid assets, reallocations, and reserves while analyzing variances to provide actionable insights to leadership. Partner with business leaders to identify and accurately record period-end obligations, applying accounting guidance such as ASC 420 and ASC 450 to complex transactions. Act as key point of contact for internal and external audit activities, coordinating requests and addressing inquiries. Proactively identify control gaps and lead process improvement initiatives focused on standardization and automation. Develop and maintain accounting procedures and policies to support operational excellence and knowledge transfer. Provide mentorship to less experienced team members and support the implementation of new accounting guidance. Build cross-functional partnerships with Finance, FP&A, Operations, Procurement, and HR to provide accounting guidance on strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3–5+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Public accounting experience
- Up to 20% travel annually
- Local to the Denver Area
Desired Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience with a leading global accounting firm (e.g., Big 4)
- SaaS or subscription-based business experience
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with Claude and/or AI tools
