Job Summary

Direct junior staff on field activities including geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing, and construction observations with subcontractors. Coordinate medium to large geotechnical projects, review construction submittals and daily field reports, and perform engineering analyses to prepare reports for shallow and deep foundation design. Mentor junior staff, prepare contract specifications and drawings, and interrelate with external clients and subcontractors. Provide quality technical support for municipal, commercial, transportation, energy, and water projects, including earth retention systems, ground improvement, and earthquake engineering. Requires 6 to 10 years of experience, PE registration, and proficiency in specialized geotechnical software.

Required Qualifications

  • 6 to 10 years of related experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks and junior staff
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability and willingness to travel and perform field work, even under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions
  • Willingness to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of gINT
  • Knowledge of Slide/SlopeW
  • Knowledge of L-Pile, Group
  • Knowledge of Shake 2000/Deepsoil
  • Knowledge of GRL WEAP
  • Knowledge of DeepEX
  • Knowledge of Settle 3D
  • Knowledge of Phase2/Plaxis
