Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary

Execute all aspects of geotechnical projects involving buildings, bridges, highways, tunnels, and marine developments under Principal guidance. Manage project teams, delegate tasks to office and field staff, and monitor performance for contractual and budget compliance. Prepare proposals, review geotechnical reports, and conduct technical analyses, computer modeling, and construction cost estimates. Represent the company with clients throughout proposal, contract, and project performance phases while supporting business development and marketing activities. Mentor staff, lead training sessions, and manage contractual and financial issues including billing, scope changes, and risk management. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and safety-minded engineers with 10+ years of experience are expected to handle multiple office and field tasks, including out-of-town assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
  • Master's degree
  • 10+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience since college graduation
  • Experience with financial project management
  • Demonstrated delegation, leadership, and team building skills
  • Experience in execution and management of multiple office and field tasks
  • P.E.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with geotechnical engineering programs including SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, SIGMA/W, L-Pile, A-Pile, Settle3 GRLWEAP, P-Y Wall, and/or Plaxis
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
