Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist

Job Summary
Manage and mentor project teams of varying grades while supervising technical design, writing feasibility assessments, and overseeing site investigation specifications. Lead project delivery by coordinating resources, monitoring profitability, and engaging with clients to secure repeat business and new opportunities. Prepare presentations, conduct technical reviews, and ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and Civic Earth's quality management systems. Utilize industry-standard software for slope stability and ground movement analysis while actively contributing to bid development and process innovation.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil/Geotechnical engineering, or similar
- Chartered or working towards Chartership with the ICE, GeolSoc or IES
- Strong relevant design experience in a commercial environment
- A detailed understanding of industry processes including those for planning applications, procurement and technical approvals
- Experience in the use of industry software such Civil 3D and AutoCAD, Bentley Open Ground (or similar logging software) and geotechnical modelling software (e.g. PDISP, WALLAP, PLAXIS etc)
- Excellent communication skills- person to person, written and graphical
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of competence in the use of MS Office products (including Excel and Word)
- Commercial awareness
- Excellent team working capabilities
- Excellent time management of self and others
Desired Qualifications
- experience of slope stability analysis and ground movement analysis software is sought after
