Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary
Manage geotechnical projects across all life stages locally and nationally, ensuring delivery aligns with schedule and budget. Conduct geotechnical analyses, geological modelling, and detailed design while preparing technical reports and managing project financials. Undertake site investigations, supervise construction support inspections, and prepare proposals driving innovative, sustainable outcomes. Participate in client management, business development, and team workshops to support planning. This role requires 7+ years of experience in a technical role within the resources sector, including water infrastructure management. Candidates must hold relevant Civil Engineering qualifications and demonstrate competence in project management for medium to large projects.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a similar technical role within industry or consulting
- Background in the resources sector
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated experience working on projects within the resources industry
- Experience in water infrastructure management (tailings, dams)
- Demonstrated competence in project management for medium to large projects
- Detailed design ability
- Knowledge of ANCOLD guidelines
- Proven ability to work through project identification in conjunction with clients
- Appropriate risk assessment to the needs of the client
- Ability to travel as required to site (Central and Northern QLD)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility requirements for full-time, part-time or job-share basis
