Job Summary
Lead conceptual through detailed designs for mine waste and water management facilities, including tailings dams and filtered stacks. Serve as Engineer of Record for tailings management projects across Canada, providing expert advice on regulatory compliance and standards. Perform independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs while offering mentorship to technical team members. Partner with clients to develop long-term, sustainable solutions and actively participate in AECOM's Technical Practice Group. This role emphasizes technical leadership and project execution, ensuring excellence in tailings management. Minimum requirements include an 8+ year background in the tailings sector and prior EOR experience for large facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- 8+ years of progressive experience in the tailings and mine waste sector
- Previous experience serving as Engineer of Record for large tailings facilities
- Valid driver's license
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- 20+ years of progressive experience in tailings management, preferably within Canada
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to build strong working relationships across AECOM and with global project teams
- Proven experience leading and building multidisciplinary teams
- Bilingualism in French and English
