Job Summary
Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist for AECOM's Ground Engineering team. Responsible for supporting investigations, interpretation and design across transport, water, energy and development projects; opportunities to gain broad exposure to ground investigation, geohazard assessment and geotechnical design with structured mentoring and progression. Responsibilities include applying ground investigation knowledge, performing ground interpretations and soil parameter assessments, data management (Open Ground advantageous), applying legacy mining risk assessment/remediation when needed, inspecting rock slopes and landslides, undertaking geotechnical design (soil/rock slopes, earthworks, anchors), providing geotechnical analysis with design software, and producing drawings, risk assessments, specifications and design reports. Travel within the UK and Ireland; familiar with Eurocode and British Standards; relevant experience in highways/railways is welcome. Graduate qualifications include BSc/MSc in Geology or Earth Science; MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering preferred; Chartered Geologist progression supported; clean driving license required.
Required Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in Geology, Engineering Geology or Earth Science
- MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering (desirable)
- Progress toward Chartered Geologist (CGeol) is advantageous
- Clean driving license
- Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland
- Familiarity/knowledge of Eurocode and British Standards
- Experience with standards and processes in highways/railways is welcome
