Job Summary
Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer in Doha, Qatar, responsible for planning site investigations, performing advanced geospatial and geotechnical analyses, and designing geotechnical elements for major infrastructure projects. Duties include integrating GIS data with borehole logs and geophysical results, conducting rockfall and geohazard assessments, performing 3D finite element analyses, and preparing Geotechnical Factual/Interpretative/Design Reports. Requires extensive experience with geotechnical software (PLAXIS 2D/3D, GeoStudio, RocFall, RS2/RS3, Dips, RocScience suite), proficiency with Eurocode/CIRIA/AASHTO guidelines, and the ability to communicate findings to clients; MME registration in Qatar is required or attainable.
Required Qualifications
- Degree / Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- 15 years of related geotechnical engineering experience
- Hands-on experience planning, executing, and interpreting geotechnical investigations and geophysical surveys
- Strong proficiency with geotechnical software including PLAXIS 2D/3D, Dips, Unwedge, SWedge, RocFall, RS2, RS3, GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W), Settle3, LPILE, AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Eurocode, CIRIA, and AASHTO
- Strong written English skills for reporting
- Ability to interface with clients on geotechnical work assignments
- Ability to obtain MME registration in Qatar upon joining
