Job Summary
Senior Geologist responsible for providing geological support to aggregates operations across quarries. Key duties include ensuring compliance with the Quarries Regulations 1999, using 3D modelling to prepare earthworks designs and quarry development plans, conducting geotechnical audits at operational quarries, contributing to mineral replenishment through strategic site investigations and resource assessments, and managing subcontractors delivering surveys and reports. The role requires an honours degree in Geology, proficiency with MS Office and geological modelling software (e.g. LSS), and experience with drilling techniques and BS5930 logging. A Chartered Geologist status or progress toward it is welcomed. The candidate should be geologically minded, capable of linking field observations to business needs, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments with professionalism and a positive attitude, while collaborating with stakeholders or working independently. Required Qualifications
- Honours degree in Geology or a Geology-related subject
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Working knowledge of geological modelling software (e.g. LSS)
- Aptitude for GIS platforms
- Experience in drilling techniques and management of drilling contractors
- Ability to log samples to BS5930 standard
- Geologically minded with ability to link field observations to practical business needs
- Willingness to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders or work independently
- Interest in Chartered Geologist progression or status
