Senior Geologist - Open Pit Mining

Job Summary
Optimise day-to-day geology resources and contractor drilling activities to meet the mining schedule by providing geological and grade control input into short, medium, and long-term schedules. Define ore zones using best practice techniques to minimise dilution, while supervising and reviewing geological models and ore blocking. Ensure monthly reconciliations are completed accurately and provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior geologists to build succession plans and maintain a high-performance workforce. Report to the Geology Superintendent in Otago, NZ, on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 12-hour dayshift roster.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in geology
- Full and Current Driver Licence
- Ability to drive manual vehicles
- More than eight years postgraduate experience
- Previous open pit and/or underground knowledge
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- A solid practical understanding of geostatistical theory
- Advanced computer literacy including experience in mining software and databases
- Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ
- 8 days on, 6 days off, 12 hour, dayshift only roster
- Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand
