Job Summary
Senior Geologist to lead and mentor junior staff in BLE's Hydrogeological Services. Responsible for managing groundwater compliance at landfill facilities, leading complex geological projects, preparing and reviewing ASD/ACM/CAP, HARs for landfill/mining sites, and developing environmental monitoring plans. Requires designing field sampling programs, coordinating multiple subcontractors, interpreting geological, hydrogeological and chemical data from contaminated sites, conducting QA/QC of deliverables, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Must possess PG credentials, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 10 years of senior-level experience with leadership and client management, and willingness to travel regionally. Proficiency in groundwater statistics, technical writing, and experience with regulatory agency interactions are essential. Preferred qualifications include an MS degree, groundwater modeling, GIS/CAD experience, and OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geology, civil or environmental engineering, environmental science or related field
- 10 years of senior-level experience with 5+ years direct experience managing projects, supervising and mentoring staff
- Professional Geologist (PG) credentials
- Ability to design field sampling programs
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors
- Interpret geological, hydrogeological and chemical data from contaminated sites
- Proficiency in groundwater statistics
- Strong technical writing, oral communication, presentation, and time management skills
- Leadership and client management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time
- Experience with groundwater assessment and regulatory interactions
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports and plans
- Proficiency with proposal, report, plan templates; conducting internal audits
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local solid waste and mining requirements
- Experience with environmental monitoring plans (EMP) and landfills
- GIS and CAD experience
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
