Job Summary

Direct and coordinate trade contractors and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work meeting the approved project schedule. Supervise and develop the project team while managing the general conditions budget and Next 150/Site Services. Lead site walks with the owner, architect/engineer, and financial institutions to demonstrate progress, and maintain thorough understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate problems. Act as primary safety representative in the field, developing safety strategies and driving safety culture across all personnel. Resolve jurisdictional disputes with Business Unit leadership support and establish credibility among owners, unions, and project partners. Lead contractor meetings, daily huddles, and technical trainings while mentoring junior team members. Participate in business development, project pursuits, and preconstruction needs including writing scopes of work and administering Time and Materials tracking.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 15+ years of experience on a $100 million+ site/civil construction project or multiple projects in a superintendent role
  • OSHA 30-hour certified
  • STS-C Certification
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
  • Ability to participate in sales process, interviews, and presentations
  • Ability to lead in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other industry standard construction software tools
  • Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Familiarity with Pull Planning Process
  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan
  • Ability to create an environment where 'safety first' is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude
  • Must be experienced supervising and leading a larger project team
  • Knowledge of labor relations
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
