Job Summary
Senior General Maintenance Worker responsible for the operations and maintenance of the water distribution system (pumps, storage tanks, fire hydrants) and wastewater collection system (pumps, lift stations). Provides limited supervisory duties over staff and contractors, helps develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and profitable operations, schedules staff, and participates in performance reviews. Coordinates with Operations Supervisor or General Manager, prepares reports, supports budgeting, ensures safety training, and maintains records. Requires strong planning and coordination skills, familiarity with MS Office (Word/Excel), and willingness to work shift, on-call, with possible weekend/holiday overtime. Valid KS Class B CDL and applicable licenses are required; ability to obtain certain certifications within 1 year and pass a DoD background check for military installation access.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Possession of appropriate licenses as required by facility/permit
- Possess a Class IV Water Distribution Systems Operator Certification issued by KWEA required or a Water Treatment Class IV from KDHE or the ability to obtain within 1 year
- Must possess a valid KS Class B CDL
- This position requires the ability to pass a Department of Defense background check for access to the military installation
