Senior General Ledger Accountant

Job Summary
Conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations, prepare and post complex journal entries including accruals and deferrals, and manage recurring adjustments to ensure accurate month-end close activities. Investigate and resolve reconciling items while maintaining compliance with GAAP and University accounting policies. Act as a liaison for finance-related matters, assist with annual financial statement audits, and prepare sales tax returns. Support staff accountants and AP administrators as needed, complete special projects and ad hoc reports, and maintain confidentiality. This role supports the university's mission, requiring a Bachelor's in Accounting with 3+ years of experience and a CPA preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting or finance
- Demonstrated knowledge Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong reconciliation and accounting skills
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
