Senior General Ledger Accountant

Job Summary
Own assigned areas of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with internal control and audit standards. Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by completing assigned responsibilities accurately and on schedule, while proactively resolving outstanding items. Analyze and record recurring and nonroutine transactions, including debt, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and foreign currency impacts. Perform detailed analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate unusual activity, and clearly document conclusions. Support NAVEX's technical accounting activities by researching US GAAP guidance and assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards. Coordinate with external auditors by preparing requested documentation and helping drive the audit process to timely completion. Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Tax, and Facilities teams to achieve business goals. Provide guidance and informal mentorship to other accounting team members while serving as a reliable resource on US GAAP and NAVEX accounting policies. Use available technology, including automation and AI-enabled tools, responsibly to improve the efficiency and quality of accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close procedures
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with a large ERP system
Desired Qualifications
- SaaS or software company experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA eligible
- NetSuite experience
