Job Summary
Senior General Accountant in Public Accounting (Remote) handling a broad range of accounting and tax-related duties for multiple clients. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing GAAP and tax-basis financial statements, payroll and property tax returns, bank and credit card reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, month-end close, journal entries, tax filings (1099s, payroll, sales and property taxes), client onboarding with financial reports and KPIs, and improving accounting processes for efficiency and internal controls. Requires strong Excel skills (pivot, VLOOKUP), experience with Sage Intacct, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, and other software, plus ability to manage deadlines, communicate effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of General Accounting experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot and VLOOKUP)
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Oracle NetSuite, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Bill.com, Expensify, and other software applications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and meet monthly deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good judgment and the ability to escalate issues to the partner on a client account
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax requirements
- Prepare/review payroll tax returns, 1099s, and related tax filings
- Prepare/review financial statements (GAAP and tax basis) and accompanying footnotes
- Assist in client onboarding including KPIs and dashboards
- Experience with month-end close processes and internal controls
