Job Summary
Oversee daily fund accounting operations, including the preparation, review, and reconciliation of financial statements and reports. Manage a team of fund accountants to foster continuous improvement and professional development. Ensure timely reconciliation of cash, positions, and transactional data while identifying and resolving discrepancies. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Implement robust accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, and support the development of automated solutions for streamlined reporting. Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management, highlighting key metrics and trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within an asset management or financial services background in an Alternative Investment environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS
- Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA or CFA)
- Experience with fund administration systems and data analytics tools
- Strong understanding of investment products and financial markets
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables and complex formulas
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and data management tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration
