Job Summary
Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture, including code reviews and unit testing. Work with product owners to understand detailed requirements and own code from design through delivery, managing multiple projects with material technical risk while maintaining zero customer-reported bugs. Participate actively in feature development and bug resolution within a fast-paced CI/CD Kanban environment, serving as a functional lead or technical owner as needed. Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge-sharing across the small, flat, close-knit engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in designing & implementing highly interactive UI for high-volume robust web applications
- Solid programming skills in JavaScript and React.js / Node.js
- Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
- Advanced knowledge experience working with relational databases (i.e. Postgres), including development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments
- Experience working in a Cloud environment (We are migrating to GCP)
- Comfortable distributed systems, message queues, and event-driven architectures
- This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from home day-to-day
Desired Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered
- Capability to manage multiple projects with material-technical risk across teams and processes; may serve as a functional lead or technical owner
- You have a strong sense of empathy for the end-user and are driven to improve their experience
