Job Summary
Build and evolve core platform services by owning microservices that power product information management, integrating with Kafka-based event streaming and Temporal workflow orchestration. Design React-based internal tools for merchants and data stewards to manage catalogs and govern organizational entities, while driving data quality through validation and entity resolution capabilities. Participate in on-call rotations, build observability using New Relic and structured logging, and contribute to architecture decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- significant delivery of both backend services and frontend applications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, or Data Engineering
- Strong verbal, written, and diagramming communication skills
- ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficient in more than one programming language
- Strong backend fundamentals
- comfortable designing and building microservices in Java
- working with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- integrating with event-driven architectures (Kafka)
- Modern frontend skills
- built production React applications with TypeScript
- care about usability, accessibility, and creating tools that people enjoy
- Infrastructure fluency
- comfortable working with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
