Job Summary
Design and ship full-stack features across backend services and web front-ends, owning them from spec to production. Build systems that translate experiment definitions into reliable robotic execution, partnering with firmware, hardware, and chemistry teams to close the loop between digital intent and physical results. Raise the technical bar through design reviews and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers. This role requires 5+ years of production software experience, strong command of Python/C/C++, and comfort owning ambiguous problems end-to-end. You will work within a Series B deep-tech company accelerating chemical discovery through AI and robotics.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years building and shipping production software end-to-end
- Strong command of a backend language (Python/C/C++)
- Solid grasp of API design, databases, testing, and CI/CD; comfortable owning services in production
- A track record of delivering complex features independently and lifting the people around you
- A pragmatic, ownership-driven approach and comfort in a fast-moving environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with hardware-adjacent or real-time systems, instrument control, IoT, or robotics software
- Background in scientific, lab-automation, manufacturing, or other physical-world software
- Cloud infrastructure and containerisation
