Job Summary
Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer – Back-End Focused at Stand Together: contribute to architecture and technical decision-making across the full application stack (React/Next.js frontends, Node.js backends, Contentful CMS, AWS cloud infrastructure); design and maintain scalable, secure APIs; oversee CMS content modeling and editorial workflows; improve CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and system reliability; ensure security and governance in AWS with IAM least-privilege and secret management; establish engineering standards; provide mentorship and collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders; support sprint planning, estimation, roadmaps, and hiring; bring strong backend focus with expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, API design, and cloud-native practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with backend focus
- Experience mentoring software engineers
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PHP; strong Node.js backend experience (NestJS preferred)
- Experience designing and consuming APIs in distributed or microservices architectures
- Experience with JWT/OIDC authentication (Auth0 or equivalent) and passport-jwt/JWKS patterns
- Relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred)
- Docker and container orchestration on AWS ECS
- Working knowledge of core AWS services (Amplify, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, S3, EFS, CloudWatch, X-Ray, IAM, VPC)
- Experience with IaC frameworks (Terraform + Terragrunt)
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub OIDC
- Observability and production operations (logs, metrics, alarms, tracing)
- Security best practices (IAM least-privilege, private S3, secrets management)
- Testing and quality discipline across unit/integration/e2e (Jest)
- Experience integrating headless CMS platforms with modern front-end frameworks
- Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together’s vision and culture
