Senior Full Stack .NET Engineer (Legacy Windows App)

Job Summary
Maintain and modernize a Windows desktop application used by field teams to capture and organize digitized historical records. Fix user-reported defects, resolve nightly and automated build failures, and support new version releases. Work across both modern and legacy portions of the codebase while partnering with the security team to align the application with organizational security standards. This full-time role requires full overlap with Mountain Time business hours. You will collaborate directly with the client team embedded in the Engineering Team at South Geeks, supporting a global nonprofit dedicated to family history and genealogy.
Required Qualifications
- Strong C#/.NET experience (.NET 8.0), including advanced C# features and nullable reference types
- WPF (XAML, data binding, styles, custom controls) and MVVM architecture (CommunityToolkit.Mvvm)
- Entity Framework 6 (database-first development, LINQ, DbContext, migrations)
- SQL Server (T-SQL, LocalDB, database design, query and performance optimization)
- Dependency Injection with Autofac and interface-driven application design
- Visual Studio / MSBuild (project configuration, debugging, profiling, build troubleshooting)
- Experience maintaining and modernizing legacy Windows applications
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including resolving user-reported defects
- Experience supporting builds, deployments, and version releases
- Ability to investigate and resolve nightly/automated build failures
- This is a full-time role requiring full overlap with Mountain Time working hours
Desired Qualifications
- Jenkins or GitHub Actions / CI-CD build pipelines
- Application security and remediation experience
- Prior experience modernizing legacy .NET applications
- Familiarity with C and/or Java codebases
