Job Summary
Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Carrum, leading design, development, and optimization of web and mobile applications using Ruby on Rails, React/React Native, and a SOA approach. Drive architecture improvements, build scalable APIs, collaborate with Data and DevOps teams on AWS deployments, and implement monitoring and observability to ensure high availability, security, and performance. Lead code reviews, influence technical direction, and contribute to product roadmaps and cross-functional delivery with an emphasis on quality, documentation, and rapid production releases. Remote-first with US-wide teams and offices in San Francisco and Chicago; expected to own architecture, deliver value through iterative software development lifecycles, and mentor engineers while focusing on user-centered healthcare experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in full-stack software development
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, React, and Docker
- Strong PostgreSQL and NoSQL data modeling
- Experience with AWS (ECS, RDS, S3)
- Ability to lead through code reviews and system design
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Mentoring engineers in scalable software practices
- Experience delivering measurable impact in a multi-service architecture
