Job Summary
Design and build scalable, high-performance UI and APIs that integrate with units operating in the field, pushing the limits of edge computing for user-friendly interfaces in modern agriculture tech. Work across the full stack to develop tooling and systems for external dealers and internal product specialists, maximizing unit uptime. Collaborate on features sparked by teammates and real customer needs, then deploy code to sprayers and cloud portals used by farmers and business partners. Test work in a hardware-equipped lab simulating real-world conditions before seeing results in actual farming environments via satellite connections. This role is located in Somerville, MA with in-person work required and seasonal travel for manufacturing builds.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of engineering experience building and deploying large-scale systems in production
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (we use TypeScript and React)
- Proficiency with Python or Go is preferred
- Experience with relational databases (SQL, ORMs)
- Willingness to learn new tools, dive into unfamiliar systems, and take ownership of real-world problems

- This role is located in Somerville, MA (Boston area) with work required to be in-person
- Travel to support AgZen's major manufacturing builds (seasonal) will be required
