Job Summary
Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Angular or React. Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and backend services while developing responsive frontend applications. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, and UX teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, participate in system design discussions, and contribute to architecture decisions for large-scale distributed systems. Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code, implement automated testing frameworks, and support CI/CD pipelines and production releases. Troubleshoot application defects, optimize performance, and work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with teams to estimate effort and define technical solutions. This 1-year fixed term role within Deloitte's Operate team supports a leading North American Bank.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture
- Strong frontend development experience with Angular and/or React
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA and ORM frameworks
- Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance optimization, and microservices patterns
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
