Job Summary
Implement new features on the web application by developing user-facing components with Elixir, Phoenix, and LiveView. Solve complex programming challenges using functional programming languages while building reusable front-end libraries and translating designs into high-quality code. Collaborate with the development team to optimize performance across devices, maintain existing code, fix bugs, and write comprehensive unit, integration, and E2E tests. Perform regular code reviews for colleagues and continuously research best coding practices. Work closely with founders and stakeholders to develop strategies that enable a great user experience.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of real-world experience in software development
- Strong understanding of Elixir, Phoenix and LiveView in a production environment
- Strong understanding of Elixir and LiveView
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Strong experience with HTML, CSS (we use Tailwind CSS), and JavaScript
- A strong desire to build beautiful end-user experiences that exceed expectation
Desired Qualifications
- Mastered either Elixir or React.js at a senior level, with at least a junior-level grasp of the other technology
- Senior pro in Ruby or Python and a thirst for diving into Elixir
