Job Summary
Senior Full Stack Developer needed for TMX Group’s Web & UI squad to design, build, and enhance trade management applications and services. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, implement web-based applications and digital interfaces, design and implement RESTful APIs, and contribute to code quality through reviews, refactoring, and architectural updates. The role requires front-end development experience, back-end capabilities, and automation through CI/CD. Collaboration with Product Owners, a Scrum Master, an Architect, and other developers is essential, as are strong coding standards, security, reliability, and scalability. The position emphasizes Agile/Scrum practices, DevOps mindset, and hands-on work with Kubernetes, Docker, Nginx, Unix/Linux, and cloud deployment. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential for regular stakeholder interactions. The role is hybrid and based in Montreal, QC, with a focus on derivatives trading and clearing domains.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack web developer (front/back-end) utilizing Python, Vue/JavaScript, C++ object-oriented programming, or equivalent technologies
- API Development: Proven ability to design and implement web services with RESTful APIs
- Front-End Development: Demonstrated experience implementing front-end web client applications
- Tools & DevOps: Strong working knowledge of version control software and workflows (Git or SVN) along with CI/CD build pipelines
- Automation Mindset: A strong focus on automating repetitive development and operational tasks
- Education: Postsecondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical working experience
- Language Skills: Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken)
- Nice to Have(s): Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks and methodologies
- Practical working experience with Nginx web servers
- Domain experience within derivatives trading and/or clearing
- Practical knowledge of G Suite
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux command-line tools
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker container technologies
- Familiarity with cloud deployment strategies and environments
