Job Summary
Design and maintain scalable, performant UIs using React and modern JavaScript, building reusable component libraries and design systems. Contribute to frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimization while translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready interfaces. Own CI/CD workflows via Jenkins and manage source control in Bitbucket/Git, tracking work in Jira with clear technical scoping. Participate in code reviews, uphold best practices, and mentor junior engineers. Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity and quality, championing accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design. This role supports high-impact, customer-facing products at Qualys, a leading provider of cloud-based security, compliance, and IT solutions.
Required Qualifications

- JavaScript (ES6+) — strong fundamentals and asynchronous patterns
- React (5+ years hands-on) — hooks, component composition, performance optimization, state management (Redux Toolkit or equivalent)
- Node.js — building/maintaining backend services, REST APIs, or BFF layers
- HTML5 and CSS3 — semantic markup, responsive layouts, CSS-in-JS or utility-first frameworks
- Jira, Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git — sprint tracking, CI/CD, and version control
- Vite and/or Webpack — bundling, build configuration, and performance tuning
- Practical exposure to AI-assisted development — LLM coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Devin), prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and MCP or similar tool-use patterns
- Micro-frontend architectures and Module Federation
- Writing unit test cases using Vitest, React Testing Library, Mocha, or Chai
- Strong grasp of software design patterns and their application in frontend architecture
- 5 to 9 years of professional frontend engineering experience
- at least 2-4 years on production React applications at scale
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to SSE (Server-Sent Events) or real-time streaming patterns
- Prior mentoring or feature-team leadership experience
