Job Summary
Senior Forward Deployed Engineer at Caylent who owns the full client relationship from discovery through close, makes architecture and build decisions tailored to the client environment, runs discovery and stakeholder interviews independently, identifies scope creep and surface expansion opportunities, and delivers documented, runnable automation that can be handed over after engagement. Roles specialize into Technology-Workforce FDEs and Operational FDEs, with experience in building production AI systems, LLM-native applications, and cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred). Strong independent decision-making, ability to manage delivery quality in client environments, and effective communication with engineers and VP-level leadership are core. The role emphasizes autonomous account ownership, IP contribution back to the practice, and the ability to surface expansion opportunities while maintaining alignment with client constraints.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering or technical delivery experience with meaningful time in embedded or client-facing contexts
- Proven solo account delivery: evidence you've owned a client relationship from kickoff through close without supervision
- Hands-on depth in one or more of: LLM application development, cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred), backend systems at scale, or enterprise business automation
- Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and manage your own delivery quality inside client environments
- Strong communicator: technically precise with engineers, clear and confident with VP-level leadership; adjusts depth without losing accuracy
- High tolerance for ambiguity; consistently delivers value before all requirements are defined
