Senior Forward Deployed Engineer at Caylent with full ownership of client engagements from discovery through close; responsible for architecture and build decisions suitable for the client's environment, conducting discovery, architecture reviews, and stakeholder interviews independently; identify scope creep and surface expansion opportunities; deliver documented, runnable automations and reusable components; contribute IP back to the practice with patterns and templates; proficiencies in LLM application development, cloud-native AWS-based architectures, backend systems at scale, and enterprise automation; preferred background in consulting or systems integration; experience with AI systems (RAG pipelines, agents, model tooling) and familiarity with Claude/AWS Bedrock; strong cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Legal, and Operations; visa sponsorship not available; base salary range observed: $136,000 - $216,000 per year; benefits include medical, 401k, equity, laptop, and learning stipends.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering or technical delivery experience
- Proven solo account delivery: ownership of client relationship from kickoff through close
- Hands-on depth in one or more of: LLM application development, cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred), backend systems at scale, or enterprise business automation
- Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and manage delivery quality
- Strong communicator with engineers and VP-level leadership
- High tolerance for ambiguity; consistently delivers value before all requirements are defined
