Senior Food Production Manager

Job Summary
Lead daily operations of the bread and donut production lines, supervising supervisors and hourly staff to ensure high-quality output, efficiency, and safety compliance. Manage raw material inventory, adjust production schedules to meet customer orders, and monitor key performance indicators including yield, waste, and throughput. Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, collaborate with Maintenance, QA, and Supply Chain, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for process optimization and cost reduction. Maintain accurate records of production output, labor, and downtime while ensuring adherence to GMP, HACCP, and GFSI standards. Report daily to Plant Manager and work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in food production or baking manufacturing
- at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Must be proficient in English and Spanish both verbal and written
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a production environment for extended periods
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50+ pounds
- Stamina to work 50+ hours per week
- Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels typical of a bakery facility
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of bread-making processes, equipment, and quality control standards preferred
- Experience with GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and other relevant safety and compliance regulations
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
- Ability to analyze data and make sound operational decisions
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with production software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
