Job Summary
Senior Fluids Analyst responsible for performing high-fidelity fluids analyses to ensure SRM performance and reliability. Use hand calculations and steady CFD to predict fluid behavior, build steady-state and transient 1D models, identify design improvements, evaluate test data, participate in design reviews and investigations, prepare technical reports and documentation, and provide mentorship and technical guidance. Role requires collaboration with design, manufacturing, and test teams and familiarity with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent/CFX, StarCCM+), 1D lumped-parameter modeling, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer. Preferred qualifications include Master’s degree or higher, experience with propulsion systems or solid rocket motors, two-phase compressible flow modeling, Python/NX/MATLAB, and ANSYS FEA, with a base Colorado compensation range of $112,000-$140,000 and full-time exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in fluids analysis of aerospace components
- Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using commercial codes (ANSYS Fluent or CFX preferred, but knowledge of StarCCM+ or similar tools is welcome)
- Demonstrated experience in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test data
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
