Job Summary
Develop hydraulic and water quality models using industry-standard software to support Flood Alleviation Schemes, Risk Assessments, and reservoir studies. Lead tender submissions for framework contracts and guide junior staff on conceptualising modelling approaches and hydrological assessments. Build client relationships across public and private sectors while maintaining compliance with Environment Agency requirements and relevant legislation. Manage project outputs within agreed programmes and budgets, ensuring high-quality delivery for fluvial, coastal, and drainage flood risk management projects.
Required Qualifications
- Evidence of significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW)
- Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments
- Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh waters
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of scripting programmes such as Python, Anaconda, Ruby would be advantageous
