Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

Job Summary

Manage fixed asset accounting records and asset registers by recording acquisitions, transfers, retirements, and disposals while performing depreciation calculations and ensuring accurate capitalization. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities through journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports, while assisting with lease accounting administration and leased asset tracking. Conduct asset audits to investigate discrepancies and support internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Operations, and IT to prepare management reports, variance analysis, and capital expenditure budgeting. Identify process improvements for increased efficiency within large asset portfolios.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA designation required
  • Public accounting experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting and/or lease accounting
  • 3 to 10 years of overall accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience supporting large corporate asset portfolios
  • Background in process improvement initiatives
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, automotive, or similar asset-intensive environment
