Job Summary
Senior Fisheries Biologist to lead and contribute across all stages of environmental studies, provide environmental advice to guide design and planning, coordinate regulatory permitting and habitat mitigation efforts, mentor junior staff, support proposal development and business development, and promote adherence to McElhanneys Quality Management System and client requirements. Responsibilities include study design, data collection, interpretation, reporting, regulatory coordination, project planning, habitat mitigation design, and collaboration with leadership and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Biology, Ecological Restoration, or a related field
- Registration in good standing in British Columbia as an RPBio, or eligibility to register within 6 months
- Demonstrable 8+ years of fish and fish habitat experience related to baseline assessments, impact assessment, and aquatic habitat restoration and design
- Possession of a valid BC drivers license
- Strong report writing experience and communication abilities
- Experience liaising with clients, First Nations, and government agencies
