Senior Fire Alarm Project Manager

Job Summary
Manage commercial and multifamily fire alarm projects from preconstruction through closeout, reviewing drawings for code compliance and coordinating with AHJs, engineers, and general contractors. Prepare RFIs, submittals, and permit documentation while overseeing installation teams and subcontractors. Schedule inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning, and troubleshoot complex fire alarm systems to ensure adherence to NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, and local codes. Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation while mentoring technicians and supporting estimating and business development efforts. Lead the design, permitting, programming, and commissioning of systems across multiple states, including Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and others, within a premier low-voltage organization focused on quality and long-term partnerships.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to hold a Fire Alarm Contractor License in Multiple States
- NICET Level III – Fire Alarm Systems
- Ability to obtain Level IV
- Experience serving as a company's Responsible Managing Employee (RME), Qualified Agent, or License Holder
- 12+ years of commercial fire alarm experience
- Experience with multifamily, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, education, and mixed-use developments
- Strong understanding of NFPA 72
- Strong understanding of NEC (NFPA 70)
- Strong understanding of International Building Code (IBC)
- Strong understanding of International Fire Code (IFC)
- Knowledge of smoke control, voice evacuation, mass notification, elevator recall, and sprinkler monitoring systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
