Senior Financial Specialist

Job Summary
Prepare, analyze, and evaluate financial information for forecasts, cost pools, budgeting, pricing, and control. Monitor actual program costs against allocations to identify variances, interpret data for financial performance, and perform month-end close activities. Utilize advanced analytical skills and AI tools to reconcile accounts and manage large datasets within General Ledger, cost proposal, and revenue recognition frameworks. This role supports mission-critical defense projects at General Dynamics Mission Systems, offering a 9/80 flexible schedule and on-site work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree
- U.S. citizenship
- Clear understanding of internal financial practices in General Ledger Accounting, Rates and Compliance, and Cost Proposal, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically ASC606
- Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze data and reconcile financial accounts
- Experience with AI tools (claude, codex, etc) in an accounting environment
- In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition practices
- Outstanding communication skills
