Job Summary
Senior Financial Controller responsible for leading full-cycle accounting and financial management in a construction/project-based environment. Focus areas include month-end close, GAAP financial reporting, cash flow/working capital management, project-based job costing (WIP), and revenue recognition. Partners with operations to drive financial performance, provides insights on labor productivity and material usage, and leads internal controls and process improvements. Oversees payroll tax, sales/use tax, and insurance requirements, mentors accounting staff, and supports budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Requires CPA or CMA (MBA a plus) and expertise in QuickBooks Desktop, Excel, and financial analysis related to project profitability.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with construction or project-based accounting strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader
- Strong expertise in: QuickBooks Desktop, Month-end close and financial reporting, Cash flow forecasting, Job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition, Advanced Excel skills
- CPA or CMA strongly preferred (MBA a plus)
