Job Summary
Senior Financial Analyst, R&D Finance to serve as the primary autonomous finance partner for Twilio’s R&D engineering and product teams, focusing on Cloud infrastructure costs (AWS and hosting spend). Build dynamic models to forecast non-linear cloud billings, lead monthly/quarterly forecasting, and collaborate with Accounting, Engineering, FP&A, and FinOps to ensure correct cost classifications and product-line allocations. Identify cost-containment opportunities, drive ROI analyses and scenario planning, track vendor spend and cloud capacity, and communicate complex cloud cost structures to non-financial stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of finance experience in progressive FP&A, operational finance or strategic corporate finance roles
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Financial Modeling: Expertise in leveraging Excel/Google Sheets to construct multi-variable, driver-based models for cloud infrastructure spend analysis
- Ambiguity & Autonomy: Ability to operate independently in highly ambiguous environments
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to translate cloud variances to non-financial stakeholders
- Process Simplification & Automation: Ability to drive simplification and automation of financial processes, modeling, and reporting
