Senior Financial Analyst (NSW Public Sector)

Job Summary
Prepare monthly statutory accounts, supporting notes, and audit files while maintaining accurate branch accounting records and completing month-end processes including balance sheet reconciliations. Manage the monthly Business Activity Statement, support income analysis and expense reviews, and handle debtor management and board reporting. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for key initiatives, while processing accounts payable, managing bank accounts, and supporting auditors and system users with ad hoc projects. This role supports the financial management of NSW Public Sector mutual schemes within the Marsh NSW Public Sector team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Business, Accounting or Finance degree
- CPA Qualification
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Well-developed technical accounting knowledge, including month-end close, reconciliations and statutory reporting
- Advanced Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle competing priorities
- Appropriate approval to work in Australia
- Criminal & bankruptcy check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle, OneSource Accounts Production or similar financial systems
- Exposure to public sector, mutual scheme or similar financial reporting environments
- Experience supporting finance process improvement or management reporting
