Job Summary
Prepare monthly journal entries for pharmacy revenue, accounts receivable, and deposits. Reconcile pharmacy revenue, contractual costs, inventory, and third-party settlements on a monthly basis. Evaluate payments from third-party payors and rebates against net pharmacy revenue postings. Track outstanding accounts receivable from facilities and prepare variance reports for Finance and pharmacy staff. Prepare pharmacy budgets using per script data, historical trends, and current statistics. Distribute summaries of variance reports to home, pharmacy, and CO department managers. This hybrid role supports financial operations across Maine Veterans' Homes, focusing on pharmacy accounting, revenue analysis, and cost reporting for payors including VA, MaineCare, and Medicare.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Minimum five years of accounting experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and general ledger/accounting software
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify trends and variances, and communicate findings clearly
