Job Summary
Prepare consolidated financial statements quarterly and annually, leading the resolution of technical accounting issues and coordinating with auditors. Support month-end closing by preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries while compiling and analyzing key business operating metrics to link trends and variances. Develop and monitor financial controls, prepare cash forecasts by liaising with banks for liquidity management, and assist in forecasting and business planning processes. Deliver monthly and quarterly board reports, support annual valuation reviews of models and assumptions, and present ad-hoc analyses on financial and operational results to senior management. Join the finance team in Markham, Ontario, requiring a CPA or CA designation and three to five years of accounting experience with strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred)
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years of work experience in an accounting function, with a track record of high performance
- Highly proficient in Excel, including ability to model and use advanced functions
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint, including ability to generate presentations
- Strong attention to detail, a must, with ability to deliver management ready materials
- Demonstrated leadership ability and is a team player
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and mentality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
- Entrepreneurial focused, with a desire to learn and grow professionally and personally
Desired Qualifications
- Advisory or corporate finance experience at a recognized firm or FP&A at a leading organization would be an asset
