Job Summary
Senior Financial Analyst responsible for supporting Briggs & Stratton’s Energy Solutions business unit through leading and performing complex accounting and finance functions including month-end closing, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost analyses. Key duties include developing financial models and analytics, leading new product development financial modeling, managing monthly close with accruals and journal entries, preparing detailed financial analyses and bridges, generating complex reports (sales, inventory, production, purchasing, cost of quality), leading cost center spend reviews, and identifying improvements to managerial and operational controls. Requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication; 3+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field, with CPA/CFA/CMA preferred. The role is Hybrid and based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ( Briggs & Stratton ). The description emphasizes GAAP understanding, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of three years of accounting/finance experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical skills necessary to review/analyze accounting and financial data, substantiate financial statement balances and prepare financial statement account reconciliation
- Strong verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of people in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interface with all levels
- Advanced computer skills including advanced knowledge of and experience working with spreadsheet software
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
