Senior Financial Analyst - Accounting

Job Summary

Develop the annual operating budget by consolidating inputs from over 175 programs with diverse funding models, and maintain dynamic rolling 12-month cash flow forecasts to ensure organizational agility. Analyze monthly financial results to identify variances against budget, then partner with Program Directors to review performance, evaluate sustainability, and optimize resource allocation. Design and maintain executive dashboards and KPIs for Board review while ensuring program expenditures align strictly with grant agreements and federal, state, and municipal contract requirements. Prepare mandatory fiscal reports for public funders and collaborate with billing teams to maximize revenue through reconciliation. Continuously improve budgeting tools and ERP systems to streamline data collection across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, or corporate budgeting
  • Experience working in Human Service or other mission driven environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing and budgeting for federal, state, or municipal contracts within a high-volume nonprofit or government-adjacent environment
  • Proven track record working in a highly complex, multi-entity, or large-scale nonprofit environment ($100M+ budget minimum)
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Deep familiarity with enterprise-level financial software, preferably Adaptive Planning
  • Ability to pivot smoothly between looking at the $185M macro-picture and drilling down into the micro-details of an individual program
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex financial jargon into clear concepts for non-financial Program Managers
  • A natural curiosity to look beyond the numbers to find the 'why' behind financial trends
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
