Senior Financial Accountant

Job Summary
Own selected accounting areas and drive accurate, scalable financial reporting across Catawiki's international business. Manage month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations while partnering with stakeholders to resolve accounting challenges and support audits. Act as a key Finance partner to Payroll, ensuring accurate processing and payment controls, and analyze financial movements to provide clear insights. Use Workday Financials daily to support process improvements and represent Accounting & Reporting in cross-functional projects. Proactively identify risks and opportunities to simplify Finance processes, ensuring activities align with internal policies and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar
- Solid experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international, marketplace, e-commerce, platform or tech environment
- Hands-on experience with month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to keep a clear overview
- Structured, pragmatic and reliable way of working
- Ability to independently manage accounting areas end to end
- Strong analytical skills and ability to explain financial movements clearly
- Comfortable working with different stakeholders across teams and functions
- Proactive in identifying issues, following up on open items and improving processes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to share accounting knowledge with the team
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Interest in data, automation and AI, and how these can improve financial processes and reporting
- Based in the Netherlands
- Comfortable working in a hybrid setup
- Travelling to the Amsterdam office twice a week
Desired Qualifications
- International, marketplace, e-commerce, platform or tech environment (preferred over general)
- IFRS knowledge
- Experience supporting audits and working with internal or external stakeholders
- Experience with Workday Financials
- Interest in data, automation and AI, and how these can improve financial processes and reporting
