Job Summary
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing and posting journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and support the month-end and year-end close process. Assist in budget development, variance analysis, and the preparation of required federal and state regulatory filings. Support external and internal audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff while coordinating with department managers on financial policy compliance. Available to support urgent requests outside standard hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive healthcare accounting experience
- Experience with ERP financial systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple concurrent deadlines, including month-end close, audits, and regulatory filings
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of financial data, payroll information, and other sensitive organizational records
- Ability to adhere to Beloit Health System financial policies, accounting standards (GAAP), and applicable regulatory requirements
- Ability to participate in continuing professional education and remain current on changes in accounting standards, healthcare finance regulations, and ERP systems
- Availability to support urgent financial requests, audit inquiries, or deadline-driven tasks outside of standard scheduled hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Health System accounting experience
- Microsoft Dynamics GP experience
