Job Summary
Senior Finance Officer responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, processing and reviewing transactions, completing reconciliations, and assisting with budget monitoring. Ensures compliance with legislation, funding requirements, audit processes, and internal financial controls. Provides senior-level advice on accounting principles, payroll legislation, and not-for-profit funding management; develops financial policies and controls; monitors cash flow; prepares budgets and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders including the Board; supports department budget execution in collaboration with the CFO and leadership; and promotes cost control and effective financial management within Biripi Aboriginal Corporation Medical Centre.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications (or near completed) in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or similar discipline
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and other statutory requirements
- Experience interpreting Awards, employment contracts, and payroll legislation
- Experience working within Not-For-Profit Organisation
- Sound experience in apply for and managing government funding
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
- High level of interpersonal and written communication skills
- Analysis and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands
- Ability to build relationships with all levels of the organisation
- High level of computer literacy, sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to hold all relevant security clearance including Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Current Valid Driver’s Licence
