Senior Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing

Job Summary
Utilize plans, drawings, and specifications to observe site activities, perform construction materials testing for soil and concrete, and interpret results. Attend project meetings independently to communicate findings with clients and project teams while preparing detailed field reports. Maintain valid driver's license and operate under general supervision to assess project-specific observations in commercial, municipal, or industrial settings. Requires ability to lift 50+ pounds, work outdoors in varying conditions, and attend off-shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Must hold ICC or ACI special inspector certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work off-shift, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Previous Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspections experience
- Experience performing field inspections on commercial, transportation, municipal, or industrial projects
- Experience preparing detailed field reports and communicating findings to clients and project teams
- Must possess at least one of the following certifications: ICC Commercial Building Inspector or ICC Certified Building Inspector
- ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector (SI) or ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
- ACI Masonry Field Testing Technician or ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector (SI)
- ICC Soils Special Inspector (SI) or NICET Level II (Geotechnical, Construction Materials Testing, or Soils)
- ICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector (SI) or ICC Fire Inspector
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Ability to work independently and professionally interact with clients, contractors, and project teams
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30-50 pounds frequently and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Pre-employment drug screen will be required
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more of the certifications listed above
- TXAPA Certifications (Level 1A HMA Plant Production Specialist, Level 1B HMA Roadway Specialist, SB102 Field Specialist)
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and attend project meetings without supervision
